The Heady Chef’s Infused Baked Potato: A Starchy Slice of Heaven

Potatoes, man. The MVP of munchies. You can barbecue ‘em, boil ‘em, broil ‘em, bake ‘em, sauté ‘em… okay, okay, I’m not about to go full Bubba Gump on you. We’re here for one thing and one thing only: a perfectly prepared, fully-infused baked potato that’s crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and loaded with enough THC to make your couch the only place you’ll want to be.

The Low & Slow Secret

Some folks poke holes in their potatoes before baking. Those same folks probably crank their ovens past 400°F and wonder why their taters come out dry. That’s not us. We’re running a low and slow offense, which means:

No holes necessary – keeps all that steamy goodness inside.

Temps below 365°F – crucial for infused recipes because we’re not out here boiling off our THC before we even take a bite.

Now grab your spuds, preheat that oven like a responsible adult, and let’s get to work on a baked potato that’ll warm your soul and melt your stress away. Let’s get baked.

What you need:

1 large russet potato

1 tablespoon of infused cannabis butter

1 teaspoon of infused cannabis oil (substitute olive oil for lower potency)

Kosher salt

Toppings as desired: sour cream, chopped green onion, crumbled bacon, chives, parsley, cheese, chives, garlic… whatever your heart desires.

What you need to do:

  1. Preheat your oven to 325 degrees.

  2. Scrub your spud - we don’t want dirt seasoning.  Pat it dry after.

  3. Using your hands, rub the oil all over the potato skin.

  4. Rub kosher salt all over the skin to taste.  Be sure to rub it in!

  5. Wrap the potato with aluminum foil and place it on the baking sheet

  6. Put it in the oven and set a timer for one hour

  7. After an hour, put on the oven mitt, open the oven door and give the potato a slight squeeze.  If you can feel it start to fully compress between your fingers, go ahead and pull it out.  If it still has some hardness to it, give it another 10 minutes.  Repeat until fully cooked (1 hr to 1.5 hrs depending on potato size and oven temp accuracy)

  8. Slice open the top and dress as desired.
